An All-Inclusive Approach

In counselling, I strive to build a safe and supportive environment where my clients can explore and work through their deeper challenges. Counselling is a process that dives deeper into the emotional and psychological aspects of an individual’s life. It is a patient, and personalized journey that can look very different for each person.

My approach to counselling is holistic, which means I incorporate several therapeutic modalities to support your physical, emotional, and mental health. Whether your struggles are with stress, relationships, family, school, traumas, anxiety, depression, or several other issues, I am knowledgeable in a range of Trauma-Informed therapeutic techniques. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Somatic Processing, and other forms of Talk-Therapy. I operate with a client-centered focus, so whatever your needs are is exactly where the solution lies. I have an arsenal of different tools to support different needs.

Together, we’ll work to build your emotional resilience, learn regulation skills and cope with disconnection. My ultimate goal is to empower you with tools and strategies that will enable you to thrive each and every day.

Additionally, I am aligned with the CPCA (Canadian Professional Counsellors Association) Code of Ethics. This means that I hold myself to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct, ensuring that all aspects of our sessions are conducted in a confidential, respectful, and safe manner.

If you choose to - our work together can focus on goal setting, mindset, and structure. Together, we will identify your goals, create a roadmap for achieving them, and develop a plan of action. I will work with you to build a positive and growth-oriented mindset with problem-solving skills that will help you overcome any obstacles along the way.

I utilize powerful questions, feedback, and provide accountability to help you stay on track to reach your goals. We’ll work towards your goals while being open to gaining new perspectives and insights. We then leverage the insights and guidance to boost your focus and motivation.

How It Works

Counselling sessions are conducted 1 on 1 through online video calls. It is recommended to be in your own separate room away from anyone else in the household to ensure privacy and focus. Counselling is most effective when meeting for sessions on a weekly basis. This ensures progress is tracked, tested, and reviewed at a regular pace.

In session, you are free to speak your mind fully and honestly. As your counsellor, I am bound by confidentiality, which means that whatever happens in the session STAYS in the session. It is a judgement-free zone where anything you tell me stays between us!

The bonuses of working with Mitchell

As your counsellor, I believe it’s my duty to go the extra mile to give you the support you’re looking for. While most other counsellors only meet for the session, I prefer going above and beyond.

If you need text message support between sessions, you can contact me through my personal number. If you need help staying accountable to your goals throughout the week, we can set up a regular check in. If you need further support and resources, I will do my best to provide what you’re looking for, or help you find someone that can.

Furthermore, I also meet with an experienced supervisor to ensure I continue to provide the highest level of support and consistency.
